For all you subscription sellers: We’ve configured a great system for how customer credit cards are charged when an auto-renew failure occurs. Many times a subscriber will be unsubscribed involuntarily, due to issues like an expired credit card or bank error. Our subscriptions system will retry charging a customer up to six times over two weekends before expiring and disabling the customer's access. Pretty neat!
In terms of notifications to the user, Vimeo OTT sends two. We will notify the subscriber via email at first card failure, and then again if the account is totally disabled after we've done all the retry charges.
